Data Scientist (AI/ML) – Remote (US-Based Only)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM (Local Time)

Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire (Performance-Based)

Work Setup: Dual monitors + docking station required

Location Requirement: Must reside in one of the preferred states (AZ, FL, GA, ID, IA, KY, MI, NE, NM, NY outside greater NYC , OH, TX, UT, WA outside greater Seattle , WI)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist (AI/ML) to develop, deploy, and optimize advanced machine learning solutions across healthcare-driven initiatives. This role focuses on data integrity, model development, agentic workflows, and the creation of predictive AI systems that directly support business and clinical decision-making. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, perform complex analysis, and contribute to innovation within AI/ML for healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform data analysis, error detection, and model validation to ensure high-quality datasets.
  • Design, develop, and train supervised, unsupervised, deep learning, and reinforcement learning models.
  • Implement agentic workflows to enable AI-driven autonomous task execution.
  • Leverage RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) patterns to enhance language model performance.
  • Fine-tune pre-trained models for domain-specific datasets and applications.
  • Clean, preprocess, and transform data to support optimal model outcomes.
  • Deploy models into production, monitor real-time performance, and adjust as needed.
  • Partner with engineering, product, and business teams to integrate AI solutions into existing systems.
  • Maintain clear documentation on models, methodologies, and outputs.
  • Stay current with advancements in AI/ML and incorporate best practices into ongoing development.
  • Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior data scientists.
  • Support business initiatives by developing ML models that drive Star Ratings improvements, reduce care gaps, and support healthcare outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • US Citizenship Required
  • PhD or equivalent experience in a quantitative field
  • 6+ years of experience as a Data Scientist (healthcare preferred but not required)
  • Expertise in Python and R
  • Experience with ML frameworks: TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch
  • Strong understanding of statistical methods including SVM, Naive Bayes, neural networks, k-NN
  • Experience designing agentic workflows or autonomous AI operations
  • Knowledge of RAG techniques and retrieval-augmented model development
  • Strong SQL/NoSQL experience; understanding of SDLC and data warehousing concepts
  • Proficiency in data visualization (Tableau, Power BI)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex datasets

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Azure AI Studio, or similar cloud AI platforms
  • Familiarity with NLP, LLM optimization, and computer vision techniques

Work Environment

  • Fully remote within approved states
  • Must be able to work from your local time zone
  • Dual monitors and docking station required for daily operations
