Job Description
A social services organization in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Psychiatric team in Brooklyn.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Schedule: Full Time or Part Time
- Hours: 12am - 8am
- Setting: Stabilization Center
Responsibilities:
- Complete screening, assessments and Care of every client seeking services
- Evaluate severity of withdrawal symptoms using established screening tools
- Coordinate delivery and reception of medications with pharmacy
- Document all medications received and coordinate management of the meds while client is at the center
- Observe self-administration of medication
- Monitor withdrawal symptoms during detoxification according to established protocols
- Provide education and consultation to individual clients and/or groups on their health needs
- Assure clients' compliance with prescribe medical regimen
- Complete timely and accurate documentation on medical services rendered
- Complete all clinical documentation in EHR
- File all documents in the clients' charts upon completion
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and coordinate replenishment with Office Manager.
- Perform other duties, as assigned
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of Nursing experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Experience with Assessments and Case Management
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Desired Skills:
- Masters Degree in Nursing
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Experience with homeless families and/or veteran services highly
- Knowledge of Psychiatric Disorders and Chemical Dependency
