Job Description

KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for a Photo Retoucher in Newport Beach, Ca. **This job is a project for 4-6 weeks and is onsite Mon-Thu with remote half-day Fridays.

Position Overview

This role is accountable for reviewing and editing all digital photography assets used across Ecommerce websites, emails, and a variety of digital channels. Working closely with the Studio Team and the Product Development Team, the Photo Retoucher ensures that post-production quality and standards remain consistent through editing, revisions, and quality control. This position relies heavily on photo editing software such as Photoshop to enhance imagery, correct composition and resolution, crop images, and adjust color, tone, brightness, and saturation.

Reporting Relationship

The Photo Retoucher is part of the Creative Team and reports directly to the Lead Photographer. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and leaders throughout the organization is required.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

• Edit a wide range of digital photography assets.

• Utilize Photoshop, Adobe software, and similar tools to adjust composition, resolution, color, tone, saturation, brightness, and cropping.

• Retouch images by removing or adding objects, or by inserting additional images when needed.

• Collaborate closely with the Studio Team, including photographers, stylists, videographers, and the Product Development Team.

• Review and finalize all digital imagery for Ecommerce platforms.

• Convert raw camera files into clean, accurate final images, securing final approval from Product Development and Channel Sales.

• Format and enhance image content according to crop and specification guidelines.

• Retouch approximately 20+ images daily, each with varying levels of complexity.

• Upload completed imagery to Dropbox, SharePoint, and other cloud-based data housing systems.

• Color-correct product images using physical samples across various materials.

• Maintain communication with photographers, stylists, designers, product developers, and the Channel Sales Team.

• Ensure visual consistency across all product images.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Required Experience

• Bachelor's Degree or BFA in Photography, Graphic Design, or equivalent experience required.

• 3–5 years of professional experience in image retouching, editing, and/or photography for Ecommerce or digital retail.

• Strong understanding of image formatting, editing, and enhancement techniques.

• Proficient in Mac Creative Suite and Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Capture One.

• Keen eye for still-life product photography, including studio and on-location product work.

• Self-starter with strong teamwork skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-driven environment.

• Solid knowledge of photo manipulation using Raw Capture One files and Adobe-based formats.

• High attention to detail and strong quality orientation.

• Advanced Photoshop skills, including clipping paths, masking, hair extraction, curves, levels, color balance, actions, and emerging AI technology tools.

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver sustainable results.

• Ability to interpret work orders and briefs, and communicate effectively with Creative Leadership, peers, and cross-functional partners with urgency.

• Strong written communication skills in English.

• Ability to work onsite with flexibility for occasional evenings or weekends during peak periods.

• Ability to adapt quickly and pivot as needed.

• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Online portfolio showcasing a variety of executions across channels is required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
