Job Description

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to support our in-house litigation team. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a thorough understanding of litigation processes, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. This role involves preparing and managing court filings, supporting discovery, and handling a variety of administrative and legal support tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, format, proofread, electronically file, and serve court documents in compliance with state and federal court rules
  • Maintain litigation calendars including court dates, filing deadlines, and other key docket dates
  • Conduct legal and factual research as needed
  • Assist with propounding and responding to discovery requests and organizing electronic document productions
  • Draft and prepare factual summaries and medical treatment chronologies
  • Handle subpoenas, including employee verification, document requests, redactions, and correspondence
  • Draft notices related to auto accidents, employment issues, and other claims, including releases and formal correspondence
  • Support garnishment processing: verify employment status, collect data, draft garnishment documents, and e-file upon approval
  • Perform administrative support functions
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external counsel to facilitate efficient case management and litigation support

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a litigation paralegal or legal secretary.
  • Paralegal Certificate preferred or otherwise qualified to work as a paralegal.
  • Knowledge of state and federal court filing rules.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, PACER, and various e-filing platforms. Knowledge of Exterro a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of subpoena procedures and practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Takes a team-oriented approach.
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
