Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Field Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex equipment at customer sites across the country (and potentially internationally). This role requires extensive travel—up to 90%—and involves working in diverse environments, often independently.
You will serve as a key technical ambassador for the company, ensuring optimal performance of our systems and building strong customer relationships through professional service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, commissioning, and calibration of equipment at customer facilities.
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance , troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic systems.
- Provide technical support and training to customers on-site.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams (engineering, customer support, sales) and escalate technical issues as needed.
- Document service activities, including trip reports , service logs, and recommended follow-ups.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety protocols, company policies, and customer requirements.
- Maintain a professional image and deliver exceptional customer service at all times.
- Maintain tools, test equipment, and spare parts inventory in ready-to-deploy condition.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or technical certification in electronics, mechatronics, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of hands-on field service or equipment maintenance experience.
- Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams , and technical manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and control systems .
- Comfortable with frequent, extended travel (air, car) and working in varied industrial or commercial environments.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; ability to obtain a passport (if international travel is required).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting , automation systems , or industrial control panels .
- Familiarity with tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and calibration equipment.
- Experience with CRM or field service reporting tools (e.g., Salesforce, ServiceMax).
- OSHA, MSHA, or other safety certifications a plus.
