Job Description

Johnson Service Group is seeking a motivated Manufacturing Operations Associate for our client in Seattle, WA- 1 year contract This role will work closely with Process Sciences, Vector Sciences, and MSAT teams to transfer, execute, and optimize clinical manufacturing processes and establish efficient procedures for equipment and operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support facility qualification, start-up activities, and development of GMP operating paradigms for cell therapy and viral vector manufacturing.
  • Implement GMP procedures and policies, executing manufacturing operations safely, accurately, and on schedule.
  • Maintain clean, organized production areas, perform equipment maintenance/calibrations, and complete GMP documentation.
  • Assist with technology transfers, capacity-building initiatives, and risk mitigation to ensure therapy quality.
  • Collaborate across teams, demonstrate technical expertise, support operational excellence initiatives, and foster a culture of safety and GMP compliance.

Qualifications

  • 0–2 years in GMP biopharmaceutical operations, ideally with cell therapy, mammalian cell culture, or microbial fermentation experience.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (Deviations, CAPAs, Change Management).
  • Knowledge of GMP regulations for drug substance/product, cellular and gene therapies, and viral vectors.
  • Proven ability to execute cGMP operations safely and accurately.
  • Fast learner, adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable in a fast-paced, start-up environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to visually verify batch records, SOPs, equipment parameters, and product quality (corrective lenses acceptable).
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, step over gowning benches, and aseptically don full sterile and non-sterile gowns.

Work Schedule

  • Shift work, weekends, and holiday coverage required to support timely delivery of patient therapies.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or a related scientific field.

1 year contract position

Level 1- $31.25 to $36.06

Level 2- $34.62 to $38.46
