Job Title: Benefits Specialist

Location: Minneapolis, MN 55401 (Hybrid – 2-3 onsite)

Job Duration: 06-12 months Assignment with possible extension

1. What are the top 3-5 skills and qualifications (technology/application/software, etc.) required?

• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, concatenate, data organization)
• Data analysis and reporting experience
• Experience working with large employer health plans (5,000+ employees)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
• Familiarity with Workday (preferred)

1. What non-technical skills are necessary (i.e., such as communication, problem solving, team player)?

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Collaborative mindset and independence in completing assigned tasks
• Organizational skills for managing data requests and project priorities

1. Ideal candidate background and how many years required?

• 5–7 years of experience in benefits, preferably as a Benefits Specialist, Benefits Analyst, or Benefits Administrator
• Experience supporting large employer plans (5,000+ employees); industry background not required
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required (experience prioritized)

1. Are there any certifications that the candidate must possess?

None required. CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) is a “gold star” preferred certification.

1. Are there any preferred or "nice to have" skills?

• Union experience or exposure to collective bargaining agreements
• Workday proficiency
• CEBS certification
